JESSICA+SEAN BIG SUR WEDDING

Big Sur is the most magical place to get married, regardless if you’re having a huge wedding or an intimate elopement, you cannot pick a better more beautiful place to say your I-Do’s! Jessica and Sean chose Big Sur for their intimate destination wedding as they wanted to draw on the natural beauty of the scenery! The couple has been together for 10 years–Jessica’s mom introduced the couple when Sean worked for her; her mother loved Sean and was convinced Jessica would too, she wasn’t wrong. Mother approved, we would say that’s a HUGE plus!

Jessica and Sean promised their forevers on the clifftops of Rocky Point Restaurant–we drove up and down the coast taking photos that day–from the redwoods in the Ventana wilderness to beach photos at Garrapata and their ceremony/post wedding bridal portraits at Rocky Point! It was the most perfect of days.

FROM THE BRIDE:

1–Why did you pick Big Sur for your destination wedding?? One of the main things we do together is travel. I have always loved to travel and Sean has grown to love it over the years, lol. I always knew I wanted to get married in the middle of some beautiful landscape, we looked at Santa Fe, Oregon, Colorado and one day when I was on Pinterest I kept seeing pictures of redwoods and coastline and fell in love with Big Sur. It just so happened Sean’s brother was going to be stationed in Monterey and I took that as a sign.

2–What was your favorite moment (s) from the day? We enjoyed celebrating with our loved ones but our favorite moments were the short times when it was just us.

3–What advice would you give to others planning a destination wedding?? Plan early and read every review you can find. When we first started planning I wasn’t aware that Big Sur/Monterey is one of the top destination wedding locations in the U.S. Also, check events surrounding your dates, I didn’t and the US Open was being hosted the weekend before.

4–How was your experience working with the DeLauras?!! Words can’t express how thankful I am I found the DeLauras. After my first email exchange with Kendal I didn’t even approach any other photographers, she was so helpful and encouraging and I just loved her energy. Every person who has seen our photos has said how beautiful they are and how great a job the DeLauras did. All of our guests who had the opportunity to talk with them rave about how great Kendal and Anthony are. Sean who had no strong opinions about any of the decisions says that having the DeLauras as our photographers was one of the best choices.
