Sarah + Brett Tobin
What was the inspiration for your wedding: The inspiration for our wedding day was combining both of our design tastes. Sara loves marble and modern designs, while Brett enjoys wood/rustic. We chose and made things that had both elements. We wanted it to be “marble rustic”. At first we thought it would never look good, but it just fit!

How did you pick your venue: We picked our venue based on the outdoor/backyard hangout vibe we wanted. We loved the bistro lighting and the big trees. The thing that really sold us was the view. You can see the whole Las Vegas Valley from the venue. We had a lot of guests flying in from out of town and some who had never been to Vegas before. We wanted them to be able to see the strip and the beautiful view.

What special details did you include: Special detail we included in our ceremony was the ring warming. We wanted
our bridal party and close family to be a part of our marriage since they are such a big part of our life. It was so special to us. A special detail we included in our wedding was our grandparent’s pictures that have passed away. We know they would have been here if heaven was not so far away. Another special detail we added were the table numbers. Each table was assigned one of our favorite places. We tried to put people we might run into at that place at that table.

How did you make your wedding day special and about the two of you: We made our wedding day special and all about us by doing a first look. I loved the first look because we calmed our nerves and spent a significant time together just the two of us. I also enjoyed being able to spend time with him right before the reception. It was so nice to just sit with him and take in the moment.

Most memorable moment (bride): Honestly the most memorable moment of the whole night was standing in front of the alter. I have never been so present in a moment. Brett is just so handsome and holding his hands and looking into his eyes was the most memorable moment. I loved hearing his vows and seeing him get emotional. It is such a powerful feeling being  surrounded by so much love and support.

Most memorable moment (groom): The most memorable moment of the wedding was standing up at the alter and first seeing Sara walk out and over the hill. Even though I had seen her beforehand at the first look, my breath was still taken away by her beauty. Finally embracing, as she made it down the aisle and her dad handed her off, the reality set in. I was the luckiest man in the world. As we stood up there with the strong winds and cooler weather, she couldn’t have held it together any better than she did and those looking on would never had known that there was a cold wind storm blowing through…unless you looked over at her bridesmaids.

Favorite part of the wedding planning process: My favorite part of the wedding planning process was going to see venues. I loved envisioning my wedding day and all the creative things we could do with
each venue.

Advice for people planning now: Make a list of what is really important to you then spend your money there. I chose photography/videography, flowers, and the food/drink. It makes it much less daunting!

Music

o Processional: A Thousand Years (violinist)
o Recessional: Here Comes the Sun
o First Dance: A Thousand Years by Christina Perri

How was your experience working with The DeLauras: We absolutely loved working with the DeLauras. From the moment we met them at our engagement shoot we clicked. They were so professional and efficient. Brett is not comfortable getting his picture taken and they made him feel so at ease. They made the wedding day go so smoothly and I felt calm the whole time. Even when the wind was hurricane strength, Anthony and Kendal were so sweet and worked with the wind and us. I would not have wanted anyone else to photograph the most important day of our life.
