Steve and Juliana, Big Sur Engagement

We are so excited to capture the wedding of Steve and Juliana TODAY at the Village in Big Sur--These two lovers started dating exactly 7 years ago! In numerology, the number 7 is often associated with introspection, spiritual awakening, perfection & completion. For a couple tying the knot on their 7-year anniversary, the timing couldn’t be more cosmic. The 7-year cycle is a bit like a relationship ‘glow-up’—it marks the end of one phase and the start of something fresh and exciting. It’s proof that they’ve tackled life’s curveballs together, grown stronger, and are ready to kick off this next chapter with wisdom, clarity, and maybe a little extra magic. Marrying at this milestone says, “We’ve grown, we’ve learned, and now we’re ready to take on forever!”

We first met Steve 7 years ago at the Big Sur Taphouse when we moved to the area and he instantly made us feel at home. With his welcoming smile and warm demeanor, he embodied the kind of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. As we got to know him, we also met Juliana, (whose beauty and kindness radiated in every interaction), her warmth of spirit perfectly matched Steve’s, and together, they created a sense of connection that felt effortless and genuine. (And they are damn fun to hang out with too!)

We photographed Steve and Juliana’s engagement session this past fall around Big Sur and their natural chemistry and shared sense of adventure made every moment so fun. While capturing their love, we laughed, shared stories, and bonded over our mutual love for music, food, wine, and traveling—turning what began as a photoshoot into an unforgettable day of connection. We capped off the day with a celebratory toast over a few bottles of champagne and a cozy, intimate dinner at Deetjen’s.

We’re absolutely thrilled and deeply honored when friends trust us to capture their wedding day—it’s one of the greatest compliments we could ever receive! Being asked to document such a monumental chapter in someone’s life, fills us with so much gratitude. Knowing they’ve handed us this incredible responsibility leaves us feeling humbled and genuinely excited–reminding us why we fell in love with this work in the first place, and we feel so lucky to call them both friends and part of our journey, too.

Steve and Juliana’s wedding is kicking off our 2025 wedding season, and we’re pumped to photograph our first (of many!) weddings at the Village. The brand-new restaurant and venue, Solstice at the Village, is a showstopper. With its sleek modern design that still feels cozy and inviting, think towering redwoods, and a soft candlelit glow, add in some next-level cuisine and thoughtful details, and you’ve got the ultimate celebration space. It’s the kind of venue that’s effortlessly chic and unforgettable–and we seriously can’t wait to capture every detail, delicious morsel, and celebratory partygoer!
