NICK + MEGAN | SURPRISE PROPOSAL | TERRANEA RESORT PALOS VERDES

2016 is starting off with a bang!! This weekend I photographed the most STUNNING surprise proposal ever. The sun was shining, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the ocean was the most gorgeous shade of blue! The cliff-side of the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes gave way to the perfect background for Nick’s proposal to longtime girlfriend Megan!

Nick wanted the day to be perfect for Megan. The couple grew up in Palos Verdes and so there was no where else in the world that he wanted to propose! After nearly 6 years, Nick got down on one knee and professed his unwavering love for Megan and his desire to spend the rest of his life with her. Megan couldn’t believe this long awaited day was actually here; she was shocked!! She couldn’t believe it… over and over she would say ‘is this really happening??’

Nick’s proposal to Megan was intimate, tender and truly wondrous. I felt SO completely HONORED to be capturing this time in their lives… I not only captured Nick and Meghan’s reactions,  but also their overflowing  love, joy and happiness for one another.  These precious moments have now been preserved forever. Man, I just LOVE photographing Surprise Proposals! I wish I could do them EVERY day!

Megan and Nick are such an adorable couple, they were so fun and easy to capture! Megan’s contagious laugh brought a smile to my face the entire shoot. She was SO HAPPY, so over the moon… I just loved their love.

Keith Urban summarized the moment perfectly. 

Nick proposed to Megan on the cliffs of Palos Verdes just as the sun dipped into the Pacific Ocean.  

Megan thought the two were meeting friends around sunset for dinner at Terranea Resort after Nick played a round of golf.  Little did she know that that sunset would be the happiest moment of her life. Nick and Megan met in college six years ago, and the two  have been inseparable since.   Nick’s surprise engagement was more than Megan could have imagined.  From a photographer (Kendal of Ostara Photography – the best around) snapping their reaction to a dinner celebration with both families following the proposal, the night turned out to be more than a dream come true!  

The most touching moment for both families was when Megan asked her seven year-old brother what he thought had happened today, and his response was that he “now has a new big brother!”
