DANIELLE + MIKE | SPRINGTIME ENGAGEMENT SESSION | LAGUNA BEACH

I am so excited to be sharing Danielle and Mike’s engagement session today on the blog! They are the most adorable couple with the sweetest love story! The couple met while playing ice hockey. Not many girls can actually play with the boys, let alone skate circles around them, and I am NOT talking about figure skating! Danielle grew up placing Ice Hockey here in Anaheim, after high school she went on to play D1 Hockey in college and then continued to play hockey in the NWHL in Canada and in Europe!

Mike played competitive Hockey in college and after college–over the years Danielle and Mike’s paths crossed, but it wasn’t until they ended up playing in the same Adult Hockey League in Anaheim that they actually connected!! Danielle and Mike played in the same league but on different teams; Danielle at defense and Mike at offense—Mike wanted a chance to talk with Danielle and so he started playing defense just for the chance to sit closest to Danielle a few short minutes in each game. One game while the two were both seated closest to one another next to the glass, Mike leaned over and struck up a conversation. Later that game he worked up the courage to ask her out on a date and the rest is history! The couple have been inseparable ever since. No longer do they play on opposing teams as competitors, but as teammates, soulmates and life mates!

For their engagement session, Mike and Danielle wanted to include their pup Ozzy in their photos! Ozzy, being their first ‘fur baby’, was the perfect little prince for our photoshoot–he even smiled for the camera as we walked through the green foliage of the Laguna Canyon! Mike and Danielle just laughed and played the entire shoot, their love is fun and true!  We finished out the day by capturing some gorgeous photos on the beach!

The couple will be getting married at the Ventana in Big Sur this upcoming October and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be photographing their dreamy northern coast wedding!!

Danielle and I joke that we are #lifetwins as we are both getting married in Big Sur this October, we both have bull-terrier breed dogs, we both drive Subaru Foresters and we both fell in Love with Mid Western ICE HOCKEY Boys!
