MEREDITH + MATT ELOPE BIG SUR

Matt and Meredith are both originally from the Oklahoma City area and went to the University of Oklahoma. They live in Denver and have for many years. They both work in oil and gas and worked for the same company for 4 years without ever crossing paths (Let me repeat that: they are from the SAME home town, went to the SAME college and worked for the SAME company and their paths neverrrrr crossed–how crazy is that???!!). Last November they met at an industry party and were introduced by a fellow coworker and have been dating ever since.

The couple was engaged right before Christmas and when it came to wedding planning talk they both knew they didn’t want the BIG wedding. Matt and Meredith envisioned their wedding day to be fun and relaxing, they were looking at their elopement as a beautiful escape and little adventure to start their married lives together. Neither of them had been to Big Sur before their elopement but had heard about the Post Ranch Inn on a Podcast from a comedian Meredith really liked. Her name is Lliza Shlesinger–during the podcast, Lliza was explaining how she left her European honeymoon because it was too stressful and they came to stay at The Post Ranch Inn. Meredith quickly googled the place and fell in love with it—she wasn’t thinking about a wedding at the time but when she and Matt first talked about eloping, it was the first thing that came to mind.

The couple was married on the mountainside of Big Sur on a rainy day in February—the rain stopped briefly during their ceremony and a rainbow appeared; it was the most magical setting for their romantic elopement!
